We knew we wanted our film premiere in hometown Santa Fe to be special but this is very, very special. Return to Rainy Mountain will have its premiere viewing during this year’s Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, Thursday, October 19th, 6:30 pm at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. The SFIFF is honoring N. Scott Momaday with their "Lifetime Achievement Award" that evening. Below are links to News items. Please keep watching here for details on the PBS release in New Mexico and nationally.
Return to Rainy Mountain celebrates “Living Legend” author N. Scott Momaday and is loosely based on the Kiowa nation’s myths and legends. We take viewers on a modern-day road trip along the trail of his bestselling book, The Way to Rainy Mountain (UNM Press, 1969). He and Jill will both be part of the panel discussion following the film which includes friends and mentors to the film, Kirk Ellis, the Emmy award-winning writer and producer for the HBO mini-series, John Adams (2008), and Chris Eyre, multi-award-winning writer and producer, known for Smoke Signals (1998), Skins (2002) and Edge of America (2003).
